January to May 2003

Our involvement in the formation of the prestigious Chester Grosvenor Spa was to form the structure and room layouts required for the Hotel’s preferred finishing contractors to complete their work.

This involved the stripping out of the existing first floor Hotel rooms, including the gym, and the erection of a new build across an adjacent flat roof above the Mall Shopping Centre, and connecting to the boundary wall of the adjoining N.C.P. multi-storey car park.

The structural steel frame for the extension had to be positioned over the existing steel frame of the shop below, so the setting out was challenging.  Connecting the new extension to the existing building through former bedroom window openings, meant the new floor levels and radii of the curved partitioning was critical.

Due to the land locked location of the Hotel, all access to and from the site was via the N.C.P. car park, under agreement
