The Queens School Sports Pavillion
Client: The Queens School, Chester.
Architect: Tweed Nuttall Warburton
April to September 2005
New build construction of a two storey, pitched roof Sports Pavilion with piled foundations, reinforced concrete ground beams, pre-cast beam and block ground floor, structural steel frame, trussed rafter roof, shingle roof covering, insulated ship lap clad external timber stud walls and pumped underground drainage system.
The pavilions location needed to be adjacent to the School access steps alongside the Roman City Wall, which is approximately eighty metres from the vehicular access to the School playing field. New underground mains electric and water services were installed in conjunction with the temporary access road.
