Architect: Johnson Robson Ltd
Major redevelopment of an existing two storey detached property, the client relocated for six months while the works were undertaken, and moved back in, on schedule, before Christmas.
The house was completely stripped out, including demolition of garage and bay structures, extended on all four elevations and had the existing internal layout altered.
To maintain the appearance of the existing house, the design specified the use of plain roof tiles, prefinished aluminium rainwater goods, coloured external render, and a combination of new and salvaged facing brick and hardwood windows. The rear balcony is accessed from two bedrooms, and has glass and stainless steel balustrading and hardwood decking.
New Plumbing, heating and electrical installations included top quality sanitaryware, vanity units, pre-finished traditional radiators, underfloor heating, digitally controlled lighting to ceilings, walls, and floors, and bathroom television. Internal finishes involved a luxurious blend of finished Oak staircase, doors and bespoke kitchen units, with Oak block and stone tiled floors, purpose made covings and reconditioned cast fireplace surrounds.
After Christmas, the external works were completed, incorporating new boundary fencing and side gates, stone paving around the house perimeter, gravel and block edged driveway, block paved approach ramp, sandstone boundary walls, sandstone clad steel gate posts, automatically operated Oak entrance gates and door entry system.
